【発酵ソムリエ】新発田の王紋酒造は、酒蔵の博物館だった！

新潟県新発田市にある市島酒造は、寛政年間から続く伝統的な酒蔵です。近くに「諏訪神社」があり、ご神木を奉っていました。

この酒造は、初代市島秀松によって創業され、加賀藩の移封に伴って新発田の地に移り住んだ市島家の手で育まれてきました。

元市島酒造（王紋酒造）の伝統を守る姿勢は、創業当時から変わらず、時代を超えても引き継がれています。
創業当初の銘柄「諏訪盛」に始まり、今では「王紋」「夢」「かれん」など、多彩な銘柄を展開し、若者や女性にも愛されるお酒を提供しています。
特筆すべきは、酒造りの世界での女性の活躍です。かつて女人禁制とされた酒蔵において、いち早く女性蔵人を導入した王紋酒造は、
昭和54年に全国初の女性酒造一級技能士を輩出しました。

 
さらに、作家宮尾登美子の小説『蔵』や漫画『夏子の酒』にも取り上げられるなど、女性の力が輝く酒蔵としても名を馳せています。

The brewery was founded by Hidematsu Ichishima I and nurtured by the Ichishima family, who moved to the area of Shibata when the Kaga clan relocated there.

Its history spans some 420 years and tells the story of a family that has contributed not only to sake brewing but also to the development of the region and its culture.

The former Ichishima Brewery (Omon Brewery)’s commitment to tradition has remained unchanged since its founding and has been carried on through the ages.

Notably, women are active in the world of sake brewing. Oomon Sake Brewery was one of the first to introduce female brewers in sake breweries where women were once considered to be forbidden,
